Searching backwards in the Calendar

In iOS searching in Calendar seems to only look forward in time for future events. In macOS the Calendar can search the past as well as the future. I was wondering what's available in iPadOS. Will Calendar search for past events, or like iOS only search the future?

Similar questions

Prior ability to search past calendar events is missing. I used to be able to search years of past events in the calendar on the iPad and iPhone, I miss it. When will this feature be brought back to the calendar? Or is there a new setting I'm not a where of?

iPad OS 15 Calendar search only goes back one year Was using the search function in Calendar and it wasn’t finding things I knew, and confirmed, were in the calendar. After some experimentation it seems that if the calendar entry is over one year old then Search will not return it in the search results. On a repeating entry, the initial entry has to be within one year back even if the repeats fall within one year. How do I get the Calendar Search function to search ALL calendar items regardless of their date?

Calendar search not working There are events in my Calendar which I can find by searching in the Calendar app on my iPhone, but do not show up when I do the same search on my Mac. The events do appear in the Calendar apps on both devices. The only difference is that search doesn't find them in Calendar search on my Mac. Spotlight search doesn't find them either. I've tried restarting my mac, including restarting it in Safe Mode. Those actions don't help. I'm running Venture 13.2.1 on Apple Silicon

The iOS version of the calendar can search the past but only for the past 12 months.

Thank you Idris. That's unfortunate. Do you know if iPadOS has the same limitation as iOS?

I think so but my iPad is at home so I can't confirm right now. You can use a third-party app such as Fantastical or Week Cal to search further back.
