find one AirPod

I recently lost one of my AirPods near my house this morning. i tried using the find my app to play the sound of my AirPod that I lost but i can’t locate where they are even though it says on the map that they are in the same location as me. I really dont want to pay the $69 so, is there a way to make the sound louder or something?
