Logic Remote via Lightning cable

Mac mini (2018) wt. Big Sur 11.6 -> TB connection to OWC Thunderbolt Hub (for powering iPad) -> UCB C lightning connection to 8th Gen. iPad wt. 14.7.1. Logic Pro X 10.6.3. Latest Logic Remote version (c Oct. 2021).

Support article (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT207593) says that connection with lightning only should be possible. The system configuration works fine for Sidecar. With common WiFi connection Logic Remote works fine. But with either iPad or Mac mini having WiFi off logic remote doesn't work (can't find mac device). Prefer not to use WiFi due to performance issues and thermal overhead it brings when recording, plus no need for WiFi when using Logic Pro X.

Anyone had this working recently? iTunes isn't even available any more (as required in the support article). Can't find any settings to help in either device or program.

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

Ignore - poor physical connection to the hub.

Can confirm that the system works as expected.
