Notes not syncing to iPad pro

Last week, Notes suddenly stopped syncing to my iPad pro (it's syncing across my iPhone and Macbook with no problem) pro and I don't know how to trouble shoot. I could see all my notes but they had not been updated for a week and the wheel kept spinning like it was trying to update by no joy.

Then I went into settings > iCloud on my iPad, I noticed the toggle slider for 'Notes' was set to 'Off' so I toggled it to 'On' and now even the outdated notes have completely disappeared. Thankfully they are still on my iPhone and macbook but I'm worried having toggled this will delete them. When I try to toggle back, it also says they will be deleted.

Help - what do I do?!?!

Hello kreatism,

We understand that your Notes weren't syncing properly. To confirm that the notes are present, go to the iCloud website and log in. You'll be able to confirm the notes are present. If so, you'll want to enable iCloud on all of the devices where you want the Notes synced and iCloud will facilitate that.

Use Notes on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
