watch over heated while charging

I put my Apple Watch to charge overnight, when I woke up it was extremely hot and would not turn on. I let it cool off and tried to restart it still wouldn’t work. I tried putting on a different charger and it would not charge, it just started heating up again. I have charged this watch hundreds of times on the proprietary charger so not sure what is up.
