Apple Watch GMT Watch Face: Day-/Nighttime Ring is Wrong for Current Location

I have a weird problem with the GMT watch face: when I set "current location" in the settings, then the 24-hours watch hand is set correctly. However, the day-/nighttime ring is completely wrong:

The ring indicates sunrise at about 4 am and sunset at about 4 pm. Reality is: sunrise at 8 am and sunset at 6 pm.

(Note that my location is determined correctly when I look in the Apple Maps App on the Watch).

However, when I select my city (Berlin) manually, both the 24-hours watch hand and the day-/nighttime rings are correct:

I tried the same on my wife's and my son's Apple Watch. Same problem in both cases.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Or is it a bug in the GMT face?

Hi G-Tech1,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand the World Clock complication is not functioning correctly in the GMT watch face configuration you've created.

Have you tried deleting this watch face and creating it again?

As discussed here: Change the watch face on your Apple Watch

"How to delete a watch face from your Apple Watch

  1. Go to your current watch face, then touch and hold the display.
  2. Swipe left or right to the watch face that you want to remove.
  3. Swipe up and tap Remove.

If you want to, you can create the watch face again later."

"How to create a new version of a watch face

  1. Press the Digital Crown to go to the watch face.
  2. Touch and hold the display, swipe all the way to the right, then tap the add button .
  3. To choose a watch face, turn the Digital Crown, then tap the one that you want. This sets your current watch face to the one that you just created.
  4. To customize the watch face, touch and hold the display again, then tap Edit."

We hope this helps!

Cheers!
