My son’s Apple Pay isn’t working

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities. We understand that your son is having an issue using Apple Pay. If you're just setting up Apple Cash Family, check the steps in the following guide to be sure all is set up correctly: Set up and use Apple Cash Family


If it is, check to make sure it isn't restricted by using these steps: View and limit your child or teen's Apple Cash activity


If those don't help, let us know more details about what's happening exactly. Do any alerts appear, and if so, what do they say? The more details you can provide the better.

There is a possibility that you have restricted him from using Apple Pay in family settings. There is also a possibility that if your son is underage, he can’t use Apple Pay at all. First, to use Apple Pay, your son has to be 18 years of age and older, and check that Apple Pay is set up and ready to use on his iPhone if he is. If that doesn’t fix the issue, check that there are no Apple Cash Family restrictions. To find that, go on Settings > Apple ID (Your name at the top) > Family Sharing > Apple Cash. Tap [Set Up Apple Cash] and make sure that your son’s name has [On] beside his name.
