I received a notification that a new Apple Watch was using my phone number for iMessage. I have not purchased a new Apple Watch. Help. Call me preferred.

I have seen similar messages when for some reason one of my devices decided to re-authenticate with my Apple ID to iCloud so this may be nothing to worry about.

Because this is a "new watch release day" it is also possible someone incorrectly entered your number when setting up their new watch. This should not be a problem unless you found a way to allow the new device, but I suggest you login to your Apple ID setup (use a computer/other device and web browser if necessary) and check for unknown devices on your account. If there is a device you really can't recognise you can delete it - then close the security breach by CHANGING YOUR Apple ID PASSWORD.
