Is there a way to stop these notifications for updating my apple watch popping up on my iPhone?
How do I get rid of these notifications popping up? I no longer use the Apple Watch. Do I have to unpair the Apple Watch? Would still be handy to have it paired for Find My Apple Watch.

Go to settings>notifications; scroll down to Watch and open it, go to “allow notifications “ and turn it off. I had the same issue even after my watch battery swelled and destroyed my watch! I’m using a regular watch now.

If the watch is paired to your iPhone you will get notification for available updates. To stop the notifications you can unpair, or power up the watch and apply the update if you intend to use it again in the future.
