Hi,
I am running Big Sur 11.6 on a Macbook Pro. For a few weeks now I have noted that there is no sound on my Mac after I put it to charge. The internal mic is not detected either. To solve the problem, I have to restart my laptop. Any ideas as to why is this happening? Any solutions?

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about your Mac. Thanks for providing the details about this occurring only when you plug in the Mac charger.
Since it's related to the physical charging hardware, you should test with another compatible known good charger if possible. Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook - Apple Support
If another charger is not available, you should have the charger and Mac checked at an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store. Check for a location using this: https://locate.apple.com.

Thank you for your reply. I will do as you suggest. I am using an original Mac charger + cable, in fact the ones that came in the box with my 6-month old MacBook pro. I will try another charger and see what happens.

Hi again,
I have tried using another charger but the problem still persists. Every time I plug the charger, my Mac's sound is gone when I unplug the charger. Only "solution" to re-establish sound is restarting my laptop. Very annoying. It never happened before. Any more ideas, please?
