transfer non-apple-purchased music from computer or internet to 8th gen iPad 10.2

I am about to purchase either a most recent gen iPad 10.2, or possibly a12.9 refurbished 4th gen iPad pro mostly for the purpose of drawing and working with image and animation. Is that latest gen 8 or 9?

I have a few questions but will start with 2 music related questions.

1)Is it possible to transfer non-apple-purchased music from my MacBook pro computer to latest gen iPad 10.2 or 2) from internet to latest gen iPad 10.2 ?

Is either process easy? Is either process difficult. Apple seems to have more barriers to moving music, even what I own on cd to iPhones and I wonder if it is the same for iPad?

Depending on how new your MacBook Pro is and what macOS it is running, you will need to connect that iPad to your MacBook Pro, use the macOS Finder to sync music from your Mac to the Music app in your iPad

OR

if an older Mac, using the most latest version of Apple iTunes ( 12.8.x ), load/transfer/copy this Music to iTunes and sync whatever music you wish, in iTunes, to the Music app in your iPad.

The iOS/iPadOS Apple Music app is part of iOS/iPadOS, but you need ways to get that music into the iOS/iPadOS Music app.

For newer Mac running macOS Catalina and later, that is using the macOS Finder app.

For older Macs and Windows PCs, that is using the Apple iTunes application.

NO other ways to accomplish this.

Music transferred/sync’d from the macOS Finder or from iTunes is stored in the Apple iOS/iPadOS Music App that is part of iOS/iPadOS.
