Question

will my alarm still go off if i have background sounds on through the nigh?

i set an alarm for the morning and i like to listen to background sounds from settings and was wondering if it will silence my alarm though?

iPhone XR, iOS 15

I am not sure what you mean by "Background sounds".

Do Not Disturb and the Ring/Silent switch doesn't affect the alarm sound. If you set your Ring/Silent switch to Silent or turn on Do Not Disturb, the alarm still sounds.

Settings→Accessibility → Audio/Visual→Background Sounds

I am also wondering, if my alarms will be silenced if I play the background sounds through the night.

You can always test it yourself.

Set the Alarm for the next 5 Mins and Play the background sounds. You will know it.
