Can't activate an old iPhone 4

I have an old iPhone 4. It's stuck at the activation screen.

Since I last used this device I have changed both my user email address and password.

The iPhone is asking me to activate with my old email address and password.

When I try to use the old email / password on iPhone or iTunes I get the message: Your Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons. To enable your account, reset your password at appleid.apple.com.

But I don't want to have to reset a password that I literally just set a few weeks ago.

I've hooked the iPhone up to iTunes and done a factory reset, but it still just goes to activation screen.

Is there any way around this? Is there any way to completely wipe and start the phone from scratch?

Hey Pineapples101,

It sounds like you have a concern with Activation Lock because it's requesting the email address of an old account. If you are unable to log into the Apple ID website, you may need to reset the password: If you forgot your Apple ID password.

You could also try logging into the iCloud website and removing Activation Lock this way. The steps for this are found here: Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support.

If you're still having trouble, reach out for additional assistance here: Get Support.

Have a great day.
