FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.

Which model watch and how long have you owned it?

On Apple Watch open Settings > Battery > Battery Health - what is shown?

Ihave iwatch 2. I am not sure if I can check the battery health on it.

You can't see it on a Series 2 watch. Batteries don't last forever. Your watch is getting old at this point. Schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and options.
