pairing of watch to phone

my apple watch se says it is paired to my iphone xr, they are both visible on locate my iphone, but they won't connect to each other. They have both recently had software updates. the only messages to ping through are text messages from my daughters i12. I can't unpair, it says it's already paired - it is, to my phone, but it won't communicate. I recently paired a new watch to my daughter's phone and since then my watch has stopped working....

I don't want to reset my watch because all my health awards are on there.
