My Magic keyboard has unpaired from my 2015 iMac

Why has it unpaired from my 2015and can’t pair now. Mouse works.

Magic keyboard connection issue Just purchased a pre - owned IMAC 2011. It was factory reset by the seller. The magic keyboard is the older version; it has no cable connectivity. The keyboard works fine on my other Mac devices but I cannot get it to pair with my IMAC. The difficulty is that I still have to resister and set up my IMAC, which means that I have no access to the settings menu. I will greatly appreciate some advice

Wireless keyboard no longer connects Since a recent update, my Apple model A1644 wireless keyboard no longer connects to my iMac, the one that has no connection ports. I have charged it, turned it off and on, rebooted the iMac, unplugged it and then rebooted again, and verified that the keyboard does, in fact, work by connecting to a MacBook Pro and logging in. My Magic Trackpad works with the iMac, but I cannot enter any data in any field with the keyboard, so I cannot let the system do its thing. Any suggestions? The “Related Article” and several KBs were not helpful because most of them require connecting a cable to the Mac, which I cannot do.

Magic Keyboard not Recognized My iMac is a late 2014 model. The batteries can no longer be charged that came with the wireless keyboard. I ordered a Magic Keyboard which I tried to pair. As my iMac does not have a USB-C port, I attempted to use the cable that charges my Wireless Mouse. My computer does not recognize the pairing as I am running OS Catalina, so will not work if unplugged. Can I use the Magic Keyboard plugged in all the time vs wirelessly? Because of some photography issues I really do not want to upgrade to OS Big Sur at this time. I greatly appreciate any help with my issue!

The following will require any USB keyboard and mouse. If you don’t have them, borrow or buy them, they are inexpensive!

1. Connect the USB keyboard and mouse to the computer.

2. Open System Preferences – Bluetooth

3. Un-pair the wireless keyboard and mouse.

4. Turn off Bluetooth

5. Restart the computer in Safe Mode per the directions in https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

6. Restart the computer normally.

7. Open System Preferences – Bluetooth

8. Turn on Bluetooth

9. Re-Pair the wireless keyboard and mouse.

10. Unplug the USB keyboard and mouse and begin testing the wireless devices again.
