Apple Watch Cellular series 7 from US to work in India

Okay but finally I got my doubt clarified as I pinged up Airtel India Customer Care and I check with both the model numbers (US AND INDIA) both of them are supported by Airtel. So I am good to go in this case now.

Apple officially does not support that model Apple Watch in India. However, it seems a few cellular carriers will support the U.S. model.

But you need to talk to the cellular carrier in India to be sure they will support the Apple Watch, and what plans you need to use.

And they said that A2477 model of series 7 which is purchased in USA will work in india with some restrictions like , some bands [900] won't works in india is that True ?

Is A2478 (45mm ) model available in USA ?

Did you actually read the responses in this thread and if you did, WHY would you still consider buying your Apple Watch in US to use in India? Are you willing to take the risk it won't work? If it doesn't, are you ready to hop on a plain to return it in the US, within the 14 day return window? If it breaks in India or you need warranty service are you prepared to hop on a plane and return to the US for service? If you answered NO to any of these questions, DON'T buy your watch in the US. But it in the country you live and will wear it.

Yes it will work in Airtel network and Jio network. I had faced the issue earlier with my Apple Watch series 5 purchased from US as Airtel was not supporting models purchased from outside India. It was not a technical limitation but was a limitation in Airtel’s provisioning software . Later I had a discussion with Airtel technically and got it resolved

No it works if the model supports frequency bands supported by the provider.

I had purchased series 5 model A2095 from US

Apple doesn’t list Airtel as a providers supporting this model but cellular features works on Airtel India without any issue

Ramit1967 : I have 45mm iWatch 7 Model A2477 . Airtel told me that I have to take help from Apple Service Centre to configure Cellular in Airtel. Did you get your A2477 got paired with iPhone using Cellular on its own, or you took support in Apple Service Centre ? Kindly share and help. Thanks

Bro all the series 7 models will work in india i.e, A2475, A2476, A2477, A247

but if u using airtel sim you should go for postpaid only , cuz airtel don't support prepaid Sims

If u are using Jio ,VI etc... both pre and postpaid will work with it

Australia and India use the same radios.

The US uses a different radio.

Only some carriers in India has decided to accept U.S. Apple Watches. The U.S. Apple Watches cannot actually use all the radio frequencies offered in India, so some users may find coverage spotty if the carrier only services a given area with a frequency the U.S. Apple Watch cannot use.

I have not heard of any Australian carriers willing to enable a U.S. Apple Watch.

It's all depended on the models.

For U.S.:

Model A2475 (41mm)

Model A2477(45mm)

For India:

Model A2476 (41mm)

Model A2478(45mm)

No. It will only function just like a GPS model in India.
