Bluetooth debug menu missing

Hi. I read somewhere that that by pressing Shift + Option while clicking on the BlueTooth icon in the MenuBar, I should be able to access a debug menu, including the option to reset the BlueTooth module.

On my device those options are missing. Can anyone please suggest why, and what I might need to do to re-enable the debug menu?

MacOS12.0.1

Thanks in advance.

Nick.

"Bluetooth debug menu missing: Hello. This is exactly the problem. When I try to do that the "debug" options (including to reset the module) are not displayed. The point of my question was to ask how to enable the debug menu, which is evidently not working on my device. Thanks for the comments though."

Three Thoughts:

A. Single Out this User:

Try creating a new administrator user, logging in to it, and then trying this once more. Do you still get this error? If so, it is likely an error with the macOS being corrupted somehow.

B. Try Safe Mode:

In Safe Mode, login items do not run, and corrupt system files(i.e. caches) are intentionally reset as a way to fix issues

  1. Boot: in to Safe Mode: [Hold Down: shift key upon boot].
  2. Log in: as same user
  3. Delete: this user
  4. Restart the Mac

C. Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more, seeing if you still get this error.

Recommend this Comes Back:

Bluetooth seems to be a big issue for many out there who are using macOS Monterey. And with Resetting the Bluetooth Module no longer being an option in the method provided above in my original post, it would be best to recommend that it comes back, in my opinion.

Do your Part: Inform Apple of your feedback of this issue. Include that you want Resetting the Bluetooth Module in this manor to come back. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive from its users, the more likely they will know what suits their customer prefer, and what to include in macOS versions to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Performance" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Select: "Software/Firmware Update" for the "Feedback Area"
  4. Comment: That you want Resetting the Bluetooth Module option to come back.
  5. Proceed from there as necessary

Any Success?

Can't remember where I read this, but despite my debug menu still being missing and trying virtually everything listed online to fix connectivity problems such as

sudo pkill bluetoothd

not working for me, I was able to fix my connectivity problems from upgrading to Monterey by going into settings and turning off AirPlay. Highly reccomend trying the same to anyone still having issues despite trying all the regular options.
