Why did apple discontinue Space Gray Color for trackpads, keyboards and mice?

Why did someone at Apple make the bonehead decision to discontinue the Space Gray color for:

Magic Trackpad

Magic Mouse

Magic Keyboards

It's a color for Christ's sake. No one wants to buy a space gray M1 Max - Macbook Pro and have a white trackpad and keyboard. Apple, if you're listening - tell us why?

While you're at it, why would you not make your external keyboards to include a backlight?
