imac Help

Hi guys, I have an iMac that is probably a very old version. When I turn it on, it just has a mouse on the screen. I will attach a picture. Anyone know what my next step would be?

Those graphics are telling you to power up the keyboard and mouse.

The fact that the computer is looking for a Magic Mouse 2 and a Magic keyboard suggest that it is not terribly old. Both devices were introduced in Late 2015 so the computer may be able to run the latest macOS version. "Very old versions" of iMacs date to 1998!


dialabrain is correct. Any USB mouse and keyboard should work at a basic level. Although some posher function key features may not be available or require remapping the keyboard, the computer will be fully functional for normal use.
