Unable to remove apps installed on series 2 watch

I have way too many apps installed on my watch. I’m not talking about the built in apps, just the ones I’ve added on. In the watch app on my phone, the indicators to install these apps are turned on and grayed out so I can’t modify them. When I click the crown on my watch, none of the apps get any x’s on them so I can’t remove them that way. I went into general>settings and I have no restrictions. How can I uninstall apps so I can free up some space on my watch without doing a complete reset?

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
