Audio Midi Setup Not Showing Casio Keyboard

I have a Casio keyboard connected via USB to my iMac. It is there in Midi Studio, but in Audio Devices, when I go to create a new aggregate device, it is nowhere to be found. The keyboard shows up in system report as well. I plugged in my Alesis and had the same result. It is there. It is connected, but it is not available to add to an aggregate device. This is driving me crazy. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the keyboard is a MIDI device, not an audio device, right? As such, it does not seem to make any sense to see it as part of an aggregate audio device. Can you elaborate on that?

Your keyboard seems to be correctly recognized by your mac, and I expect it will work nicely with applications like GarageBand and Logic Pro.

Unfortunately, this didn't help. There has to be a deeper problem going on. The keyboard is connected to the Mac. There is no question about that. It shows up in the MIDI Studio, and it shows up in the system report (see attached). It doesn't show up in the Audio Devices, which is precisely where I need it to be in order to use it. There doesn't seem to be any option to add it to Audio Devices, either stand alone or as part of an aggregate. I just don't get it. I feel like I really should have stayed with High Sierra.

I am not familiar with the specific keyboard, so it may work differently from the one I have (I am not a musician, either).

The recordings I made were with GarageBand. I just connected the keyboard, started a project in GarageBand, added an instrument (can't remember the details) clicked the record button and played away (very poorly, since I can't really play).

To be absolutely clear: GarageBand recorded not audio, but the actual keys and tempo off my keyboard. The audio is generated/synthesized by GarageBand, not recorded. One advantage is that I can change all sorts of stuff, including the software instrument, to a "cathedral organ", if so inclined.

This is of course different from an actual audio recording. If your keyboard is capable of both audio and MIDI output, and you want to record the audio, then probably you need to connect that audio headphone port to the audio import on your mac.

What is the exact model of your keyboard?
