Overdrive not working on my old iPad and I can't update it
Used libby from overdrive to access local library this no longer works on older iPads that are unable to update to latest software. Is there any way round this?

Yes, there is a solution. Libby and Overdrive used old/outdated certificates from Lets Encrypt, but recently updated to their ISRG Root X1 certificate (Google it) that is not in iOS 9.3.5. I posted the link to this certificate but Apple removed it for containing "an inappropriate link". If you download the certificate (I used the ".der" one) in Safari, it will automatically prompt you to install it. Once installed, Libby worked fine on my iPad 3 running iOS 9.3.5, and the same should be true for Overdrive.
Thank you for that information. Libby is now working on my old iPad!
This absolutely works….restored Libby and Overdrive on my older iPad .
thank you for the solution
Thanks so much, this saved another ipad mini from obsolescense.
Thank you so much!! This completely worked! I can't use my old iPad for literally anything else, but now I've got it back as an E-reader. I really appreciate your help with this.
