Endless Apple ID Review Loop on MacOS

I just created an Apple ID on my new Macbook Pro M1, running on Big Sur 11.5.1.

I'm unable to download any apps from the App store, because of some buggy loop.

  1. It asks me to Review my Apple ID Details since " This Apple ID hasn't been used before."
  2. I Click on Review.
  3. The moment I click on "Review", it asks me for the password.
  4. After entering the password, it again shows the same message as in step 1.

Please refer to the userflow below.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4 - The loop begins.

I mean, you have the finest minds with respect to user experience design, but you're not able to fix such trivial issues.

Its such a let down.

Hello there, hemanthbh!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! From your post, it appears there's an issue with a message stating your Apple ID hasn't been used yet. This usually means that you might have to go through a setup of using your Apple ID for the first time. This might mean accepting the Terms and Conditions or reviewing payment information. Check it out here: How to create a new Apple ID. Specifically, take a look at the section belowin the menu instead of the App Store:

"If you see a message that you need to sign in to iTunes

If you created a new Apple ID on the web and see a message that you need to sign in to iTunes, follow the steps below for your device:

  • On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Open Settings, then tap "Sign into device" and sign in with your Apple ID.
  • On a Mac: Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then select Apple ID and sign in with your Apple ID.
  • On an Apple TV: Sign in to the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Music with your Apple ID.
  • On a PC: Sign in to iTunes with your Apple ID.
  • On an Android device: Sign in to Apple Music on Android with your Apple ID."

Otherwise, double check the payment method on file if you have one: Change, add, or remove Apple ID payment methods

Take care!
