How to remove Affinity Photo Installation dmg from iMac desktop?

My friend bought Infinity Photo and installed it on his iMac that is on macOS Big Sur. All went straight forward and the app is working perfectly.

But. When he tries to remove the Affinity Photo Installation dmg from the iMac desktop, he gets a pop-up saying: "The disk 'Affinity Phot is not removed, because it is probably used by one or more apps. To remove the disk immediately, use the button 'force remove'. But that is not the solution to remove de dmg-file from the desktop." (translated from Dutch..)

Hopefully someone knows how t save this problem!

Solved!

Your suggested solution resulted in the same error.

I forced quit Finder, that solved his problem.

Right click on the disk image and chose Eject.

Not sure I explained well enough. Right click on the image in the Finder Sidebar under Locations.

I typed a response, submitted it and then realized the problem had already been resolved. I don't understand how that is helpful either; I should have read further before responding. There being no way I saw to delete completely the unnecessary response, I just stated it was an unnecessary response.
