Logitech C920x lagging, freezing & generating "drawing too much power" warning

My MacBook Pro 13" on 11.6 started having issues with Logitech C920x with a significant delay 2 weeks ago. There has been a resolution thread on this device for Win 10 PC's

"I've opened a ticket in Gygabyte support and they asked to change the BIOS setting bellow:

BIOS > SETTING > Platform Power > Platform Power Management > Make it DISABLE

It worked! I finally can use the C920 with 1920x1080 without any problem"

Is there a rough equivalent on MacOS?

About the only nearest parallel between some Apple portables & Windows-driven hardware

may be in older model Macs where a power reset may be achieved by use of an SMC reset.

• How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

In newer M1 SoC silicon, there are no NVRAM or SMC resets; nothing similar or as direct.

..IF your model is newer Apple silicon M1x there are examples of how things differ..

• Use macOS Recovery on a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support

There may be other workarounds, to address software &/or hardware concerns.

PS: was there any feedback from Logitech concerning new software drivers?

No reply from Logitech and no new drivers have been released in 4ish months. I have isolated the issue to my VT 4900 DisplayLink hub as the above SMC reset did not rectify it for me, but a simple "have you turned it off and back on" at the hub allows it to work flawlessly for 12+ hrs thus far. I am simply going to turn off the powered hub at end of day.

That's the good news.

I've always had to restart my Macs, at least twice a year.

Helps to flush gremlins out into the light; every so often.

Some issues are resolved through updates or upgrades.

But layers of newness can make for multiple headaches.

Only have four working macs in my room now. Older two

run Leopard 10.5.8. With TenFourFox demise, they still work.

[Leopard + Tiger still get 'iTunes Internet Radio' channels OK.]

Won't directly see much new. (just web certificate updates)

And two newer run Mojave; of those, one w/ 3 older macOS.

Take care & stay safe!🌞
