Location symbol

Please help! My location symbol stays on alllll the time and is draining my battery and using up my data. I’ve turned all location settings off on my phone and it’s still there.

any other advice?

Hello Jkab7,

Thank you for that picture. If you go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services, you will see that a hollow arrow means that an item may receive your location under certain conditions. This is just a status bar icon, and does not necessarily mean that it's on. You can flip the switch on the Status Bar Icon to turn that off.

Since we figured that out, it may not be the location services that are causing battery drain. Follow this article to have a look at what may be causing your battery drain, and follow the steps to maximize the performance of the device: Maximizing Battery Life and Lifespan

The status bar icon is turned off on my settings as are all location settings but the symbol is still there. When I spoke to my phone contract company they advised it would be the phone constantly trying to get my location causing the drain on my 4G. My partner has the same phone and contract and I’ve been through all of his settings as his symbol doesn’t show and even when I copy his it shows? It has only done this since the update before last 🤔

Hi, thanks for this. I’ve done it but it’s still showing in the top corner. I have also tried to have all location settings turned off but it’s still showing even though no location settings on.
