Why won’t my ringtone play when I get a call

I have a ringtone set but when I get a call, it doesn’t play. Why?

Most likely you have Silent Mode set (check the switch position), or something like Do Not Disturb is active. Check in Settings.

shows my ringer isn’t on but I don’t have it in silent mode
