Apple watch still won’t unlock iPhone with mask

My new iPhone 13 pro will not unlock with my Apple Watch 6. My phone iOS is 15.0.2 and watchOS is 8.0.1

Make sure both your devices are up to date.

Make sure both devices share the same Apple Id and are connected together.

If it were me I'd toggle Unlock with Apple watch off

Then reboot both devices

Then toggle Unlock with Apple watch back on.
