No toggle for detect gym equipment

I do not have the toggle to detect gym equipment on my AW 6. This was was originally given to my 10 year old, it did not show up for him but I figured that was because he was too young. The watch then went to my wife, she had the toggle for "detect gym equipment" and was able to use it with her peloton+ with no issue. She has since gotten a new watch and I took over the watch. I reset and signed in with my apple information and I now no longer have the toggle to detect gym equipment.

I feel like this has to be an age restriction issue but I can't find anything on my apple account that has the incorrect birth year. I do have the same Name as my son, but we have separate apple accounts. We do also have family sharing on. I saw on a previous post where someone had the same issue and there was a setting under Activities where the incorrect age (under 13) was set. I cannot find anywhere where under 13 is an option. I'm out of ideas and was wondering if anyone has run into this issue. I'm not sure this is an age restriction issue, but I'm guessing that is the problem.

No it doesn’t help because I can’t get passed step 2

“Make sure your watch is set to detect gym equipment—open the Settings app  on your Apple Watch, tap Workout, then turn on Detect Gym Equipment”

there is no toggle on my watch for it. Again when paired to my wife’s apple account there is a toggle, once paired to my account no toggle.
