Yea, it can be touchy as to where you start your swipe. We tested in iMessage, Notes, and FaceBook and it worked in each of those apps. We had the best success starting right at the top of the keyboard window or just slightly above. Once you find the 'sweet spot' on one app, you should be able to use it in all apps.

We understand that you want to know if it is possible to hide the keyboard on your iPhone. Typically a down swipe at the top of the keyboard will usually hide the keyboard, but it may vary for some apps. Is there a specific app that you are concerned with?
