`loaded Big Sur. Hate the tabs. Problem is that in safari once I get to a web page and then select on of their click boxes the screen goes past the page just displays the text an locks me out.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you are running into an issue with a specific webpage in Safari, is that right? If so, you can try the step in this article: If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected.

I figured it out. In settings pull up Safari. Scroll down to Reader, turn it off.
That is what was causing my problem. To see what was happening find a web page that has a clickable link. Click on it observe what happens. Turn on the Reader, and click on the link you will go to link and quickly go to the next link.
