logic pro x update 10.7

Updated Logic Pro X yesterday, Oct 20. The latest update is no longer uploading a project directly ("share to soundcloud") to Soundcloud. When I try, a new window opens asking to log into Soundcloud through various options (e.g., apple, soundcloud log in, google, facebook), however none of the options work. Instead the window is stuck in "redirecting," but goes nowhere. I've contacted Apple/Logic Support. They were able to duplicate the issue, but still have no work-around. I've seen other have the same issue wince the update. Anyone else? Thanks.

found this on soundcloud, maybe an issue with singing in through logic????

Sometimes you may see a “Our robots think you’re spam” or "Our robots think you're a robot" error message when trying to log in or sign up.

We have a number of systems in place to stop spammers from signing up or logging in. It looks like there was something about your sign up or login attempt which triggered these systems and prevented you from accessing SoundCloud.

To regain access to your account or to create an account, try following the troubleshooting steps below:

  • Try reloading/refreshing the page
  • Try using a different browser
  • Try accessing through a different computer or device
  • Try resetting your router
  • Try a different internet connection

If you're still trying to create an account, we'd recommend you try using a different email address, as it's possible there's an issue with your email address or domain.

I didn't get any response from apple or soundcloud except soundcloud said it was an apple issue. It did start working after I up dated logic, also the static in the background cleared up after the logic up date. I have a line 6 UX2 interface, and even with logic closed I would get this very light static in the headphones, was not logic related, but after I updated logic recently the static cleared up. I also have had to unplug the UX2 to get it work with different apps, now I just reset the audio. still some minor bugs I guess.

Have the same issue, I have shared to soundcloud for several years from GB and Logic, just today since the last update it gets stuck on the log in and says redirecting? but never does. I would really like things to work as they are supposed to, I mean its a Mac not a PC. with a PC your always doing a work around. not sure why this wasn't checked out before the update.

Yes you can bounce it and then upload but when I do a track I upload several times so I can listen to the song in my car and decide which version I like and what I need to add or change, its how I create. Have fun learn something new and be safe

tried going to settings in sound cloud and revoke access from logic. then I tried to share again and got stuck on the redirect but logic had access again in sound cloud??? seems like a coding issue in logic with the log in. Its getting logged in but you don't see it? and it never bounces the track etc.... Maybe my phone is logged in and causing the issue. Nothing Ive tried could get it to go past the redirect.

I'm having the same issue here, and I'm embarrassed to admit that the reason that I'm not opting to just bounce to a folder, then upload, was that the seamless integration was the sole reason I chose soundcloud over other similar companies (distrokid etc). My laziness knows no bounds - I don't know what settings to use to bounce the file in a format that will appear on soundcloud as lossless (apple lossless didn't do it and my ADD brain says, 'ok if at first you don't succeed, scream and hide in a corner.'

Hi, Damian,

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I understand that it can be confusing. Here's what Soundcloud suggests. I'm copying this from their website:

"We recommend you to upload in a lossless format like WAV, FLAC, AIFF, or ALAC. We also support a large variety of lossy formats, including OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR, and WMA.

The maximum file size is 4GB. If your file exceeds these criteria, please split it into separate uploads.

For a full list of support codecs and containers, check our supported file formats.

We transcode all tracks to various codecs which are optimized for streaming playback. We want to preserve your work, that’s why we recommend you upload uncompressed or lossless audio files to ensure that the transcoding process results in the best possible quality. When you make your track downloadable, however, this allows your listeners to download your track in the same format you uploaded it in, without any additional transcoding."

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with Logic.

We unfortunately cannot offer support for any third party apps as we don't have the necessary knowledge of its usability nor control over its code so as to offer a fast and accurate enough support.

Therefore we suggest you directly contact the support service of Logic and let them know of any issues and error messages that you are getting.

We hope you understand.

All the best,

Carl

don’t know why it’s not working but I was happen when it did work. Not sure if I updated the OS or not. I had a song and shared it to music, and then just tried to share to SoundCloud and got the sign in window, signed into SoundCloud and almost immediately it it started bouncing. Reason 11 and up retire has been disabled, so you can only use reason as a rack. So on my old iMac 2009 I had to put reason 10 on it along with an older version on Logic in order to finish my songs where I used both. The other option is to export the reason tracks as an aiff and then add to logic. But it is nice to have reason as a rack. Hope you get it to work. Thanks kurt
