Phone glitched

my iPhone froze when I was on an app, the screen just completely turned black but I can still hear the notifications coming through, I would also need to mention that the phones home screen button hasn’t been working for a while now (iPhone 6S), meaning I cannot reset the phone since it doesn’t read that I am holding down the home button. Do you have any suggestions on how I would be able to fix this without taking it to the Istore?
