You can't boot in Windows on a M1 Mac because it is an Arm cpu not an Intel cpu (not the same architecture).
However you can use Parallels 17 to boot an Arm preview Windows Virtual Machine (Windows 10 or Windows 11) while in MacOS.
Check the Parallels website for details. The Arm preview of Windows 10 and Windows 11 can run most basic intel based programs and Microsoft software without a glitch. You might have issues running heavy duty programs though.

Because the M1 is an arm based cpu which can’t execute the code that the intel based operating system windows use needs to work

If you need Windows on a Mac via Bootcamp, return your M1 Mac, and but an Intel MAC, before they become obsolete.
