Locked screen sound only

Long story short, I reached out to Apple because I was no longer getting sound notifications with new emails coming in. Fixed the issue but I don’t like the notifications showing up on my locked screen. I shut them off but left alerts, sounds and badges on. Now I’m back to not hearing sound when my phone is locked. Please help!!! This is driving me nuts!
