I purchased Apple Care last November when I bought my sons airpods and now they are saying he doesn’t have apple care but it’s on my receipt

I purchased apple care back in November when I bought my sons airpods it’s on my receipt when we went to use the apple care they are telling me we don’t have it but my receipt shows I paid for it.

I want to add apple care to my product My daughter was gifted airpods and I was trying to purchase the apple care for the product. They were given to her on 07/08/2021. If someone can please let me know if I can still purchase the apple care I would like to. I was not able to purchase at the time she received it due to financial issues.
