Why does my macbook device still show on my Apple ID after reset

I reset my old MacBook Pro as I’m trading in, but on my new laptop I can still see it under Apple ID. Does this mean I did not reset the mac properly?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

You can Remove the device from >System Preferences>AppleID

click on the device in the left hand column>Remove from Account

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac
