Does it take long for Apple to start preparing to ship my order?

I've ordered an iPhone 13 online 4 days ago and it's still at 'processing'. Apple still hasn't charged me for the purchase yet. It's quite concerning; I thought that at most, it would take it two days to start preparing to ship. But no, it's taking longer than 4 days to start preparing and it makes me wonder, if it takes it this long to process my order, how long would it actually take to ship? the longer it takes for the order to process, the longer I'd have to wait until my order ships. Is this normal when ordering iPhones online? Does it take this long for apple to process your order?

I ordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max on September 28th with the ETA on Oct 27 - Nov 3. Until yesterday it was at the "Processing" stage and they processed the payment only yesterday, hence the status changed to "Preparing to Ship", but the dates have now changed to Nov 30 - Dec 7... One more month to wait!

That's exactly what happened to me too. When I first placed my order, the estimated arrival date was Oct 28 - Nov 2. Only until the 27th did it process my payment, and it changed from 'Processing' to 'Preparing to Ship'. It's going to arrive tomorrow. I hope you get your phone earlier than the estimate date! When you placed the order Apple would have provided an anticipated arrival date. As that date approaches the status will change to preparing to ship, then to shipped. When it is shipped, Apple will send you an email with an updated arrival date and tracking information. Also at that time your method of payment will be charged.
