If your phone camera is set to take Live photos (the default) they can look like videos on Microsoft PCs
Turn off Live and if that works for you, go to Camera settings and set the Preserve Settings feature for live photos ON.
Hi there pianoman916,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about taking photos on your iPhone and getting the right setting for the photo you want to take. We have some questions to clarify the issue.
Are you using the native Apple Camera app?
Would you be able to send a screenshot of what you see when you open the Camera app to take a photo?
Check this article for the Camera features you can adjust with your iPhone:
About the Camera features on your iPhone
We look forward to working on this with you.
Take care.
You're welcome. Live has its uses but a lot of drawbacks. It should not be the default in my opinion.
Thank you! That solved the problem!
