You are correct. This is a known “storage bug” in iOS 15 and it has affected some iPhones. The thing is that this bug does not affect the iPhone’s overall performance. I have no doubt that Apple will address this in a near future iOS 15.x update.

I have the same issue. The system data got so full that my phone started freezing. It has been going on and off all day till I was able to free up some space by deleting almost all my apps. I am thinking of doing a factory reset. What do you think?
so, can i install other apps ?
Go ahead and try.
Axel F.
I’ve try to install an application but it’s impossible. Any other ways ?
iOS 15.1 was just released a few minutes ago today. Can you update your iPhone to iOS 15.1 and see whether that resolves the issue once and for all?
Axel F.
That would be my last recommendation. If you do a factory reset, then ensure that you have a backup file created so that you can then restore your iPhone from it.
