iPad Pro not displaying anything on external monitor

I've been trying to get my iPad Pro 11" (2021) to connect to an external display via USB-C to HDMI dongles. However, after trying two different dongles (which work fine on my M1 MBA), and several monitors, TVs and projectors, I can't get a single combination to work.

For all I can find, it should just mirror my home screen on the external display, however, nothing happens. If I open a video app (ie Netflix) no video plays on either display, but other than that, I see no signs of the iPad recognising it's got an external display plugged in.

Is my iPad faulty? Is this something that can be fixed somehow?

I’m currently experiencing the same issue. I had it connected a few days ago and it was working as expected. Then yesterday it suddenly stopped working when I tried to reconnect it. I have it running through a USB-C dongle which is connected to a switch and all of the other devices work just fine. In fact, the mouse and keyboard work when the iPad Pro is plugged in, but nothing shows on the display. I also tried connecting another iPad to the same dongle and everything worked, including the external display.
