How to hide music video from song list on MacBook Library?

Hello! My problem is connected with using Apple Music. I have Apple Music subscription. When I add music video into my iPhone (or iPad) Library, it has appeared into "Music Video" and not into "Songs". There's another situation on my MacBook Library. I can see music video, which has been added by mine, into both "Music Video" and "Songs". Apple Support said all mac included this Apple Music problem. I think this is a bug and would like to fix this situation with my MacBook Library. Could you help me?

As the saying goes, It's not a fault, it's a feature. It isn't some bug in your current library that you could fix by rebuilding it. The inclusion of music videos in the songs and other views is the currently designed behaviour. You can use Feedback - Apple Music - Apple to let Apple know you'd like it to work differently, but I wouldn't hold your breath. You can create a music video free view to use in the library in about 30 seconds. File > New > Smart Playlist with the rule Media Kind is Music. You can exclude this list from syncing to any of your devices since you don't need it there.

Hi new3tion,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with the songs and music videos you have on your devices. We'd like to help.

Just to confirm, are you an Apple Music subscriber or do you manually sync your media between your Mac and your iPhone? If you manually sync, are you choosing both the video and song at that time? Is this issue only with this video or all video and song combinations?

Depending on how you sync your music, these resource can help:

Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music

Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod with your computer

Let us know more about your issue and we'll continue to help.

Take care!

Ah, in which case you can ignore the playlist that arises on your devices, or add a rule to the playlist that makes it also dependant on some other list that you already have. E.g. Match all rules Media Kind is Music or Playlist is <Some list that only has songs>. List that contain excluded content or depend on other lists should be excluded from syncing through the cloud. See Identify cloud status icons in your music library on your Mac or PC - Apple Support for more.

To my mind, it’s not good. For example, when I shuffle my songs, music videos add too. It’s not iPhone/iPad issue. So, I should delete them or create playlists. Why should I do it if I have Songs section and not Purchased?

Besides, songs have media kind which is called Music, music videos – Music Video. Perhaps, do I have an opportunity to hide needed media kind from this section?

iTunes, and now Music, include music videos as part of an album. The Music Videos section of the library only includes music videos, but the songs or album views etc. will include any video, digital booklet, iTunes LP, etc. This inconsistency between the behaviour on a computer and on a device is not new. Both are working as designed, even if you or I might make slightly different choices.
