Migration Assistant

I don’t want to migrate all of my files, only a couple of programs, how do I do this? Can I specify in Mac OS Migration Assistant which programs to move to my new Mac?

Mac mini, macOS 11.6

Unfortunately, Migration Assistant only transfers all files or none. I believe the same applies to programs (apps). Some people prefer to not transfer apps and download them from the vendor's web site to have clean installs on their new computer.

MA is that finely tuned, to choose just certain Apps.

Most Apps have other files scattered around, if you have a Time Machine backup maybe connecting that would be easier, or reinstalling those Apps.
