Updated iOS and camera stopped working. Tried all the solutions mentioned on this help forum. Closed the app, restarted the phone, reset the phone to default settings, and still nothing.
iPhone 8 was working fine. Don’t feel like I should have to pay for a repair that Apple caused through software changes.

It sounds like your iPhone would benefit from a visit to an Apple Authorized Service Provider. We recommend calling the location that you choose to make sure they're open. You can find an Apple Authorized Service Provider closest to you to make a reservation, and have the repair done if you go to this link: Find Locations

Does the camera work in any other apps at all or is only the native camera app affected?

Thank you. I have tried the fixes prescribed in the previous forum posts. I’m running iOS 15.0.2 and the rear facing camera doesn’t work no matter which app I’m using. The front facing camera seems to work intermittently.
So now my rear facing camera works in the sense that I can actually see a picture instead of a black screen. But it freezes every time I try to take a picture.
I’m now thoroughly convinced that an Apple software update did this to my phone. If it was a hardware problem it’s highly unlikely the functionality would randomly return.
Thanks. Do I have to pay for one of these service appointments if it turns out to be a software issue?
