When to trade-in old ipad

Hello, I just bought a new IPad and noticed that I need to trade in my old one within 14 days. Does it mean 14 days after I received the new IPad or 14 days after I ordered? Because the shipping is estimated two weeks later from now, so I'm afraid that I can't transfer the file to the new one if I need to return the old IPad within 14 days from now. Thank you!
