I bought a new iPad with the plan to trade in my old one once everything was transferred. Within how much time do I have to trade in the old one?

There is no time limit. You trade it in and receive store credit for it if you do it at an apple store. Places like Amazon and Best Buy will also give you store credit for your older devices.
