On the older model Apple TV, I keep getting a pop-up on my phone for ID verification and it says to input it on the device, but there is no screen on my Apple TV to input the code. How do I enter the code on Apple TV?

I actually finally got this fixed last night. Yes, it was the 2-factor authentication issue I believe. My Apple TV is a 2 or 3, 1080 one, not my 4k one. I searched the net and found one answer that helped with one problem but didn’t solve all issues (where it said to append the code to my Apple password). Was able to use my phone as remote with that suggestion. I finally saw something that suggested logging out of iTunes and logging back in and that finally solved the rest. All is well now.
