Photos not showing in messages info tab (again)
Back again with the same issue I had 2 years ago.
same crap after iCloud restore on a new phone I cannot see any pictures or videos on the “info” tab of a messages conversation. Only new ones that were sent after restore from iCloud….
anyone else experiencing same issue? Not sure why Apple is having such a hard time getting a simple feature to work.
I restored on Wednesday and I saw a download button, clicked it and it downloaded a bunch of photos in each conversation but it never downloaded them all for…. Waited and waited on wifi with power for 3 days, toggled on and off iCloud messages, signed in and out. Rebooted etc. no change.
Factory reset again and restored, saw the download button again and did not touch it, didn’t do anything and let it do it’s thing, the amount of photos showing to download decreased and decreased and the download button disappeared…. Still nothing showing in the conversation….
indexing appears to have been completed I can search to conversations dating back to 2013 and see the images inside the actual chat conversation but I cannot pull of anything on the info tab….
anyone else having the same issue. This should be a straight forward process but proves once again it’s a real PITA.
I’ve already tried the following
- connected to a reliable network with power
- turn iCloud messages on and off
- sign out if iCloud and back in
- reboot phone
- its Beeen 24 hours since restore all data is present except the photos in the messages screen
it seems they have or a majority at least have downloaded so why is it not showing in the messages app?
