Pages for El Capitan 10.11.6

Hi Community,

I have recently unninstalled Pages 5.6.2 from my macOS El Capitan in order to have it reinstalled and syncronised with EndNote20 for writting my essays.

From the App store doesn't allow me to download it because I don't have installed macOS 10.11 or higher.

The reason why I have El Capitan is that I use some older programs that won't run above El Capitan.

Could you please advise how can I install Pages syncronised with EndNote 20 running under El Capitan?

I have to mention that I have installed EndNote plugin 2.0, before unistalling Pages but that didn't work.

I really want to write my research studies on Pages if possible, I even bought EndNote to make it work, but no luck.

Otherwise I have to go to Microsoft Office and use their word processor and whole suite that my uni offered for free because I am student.

For El Capitan 10.11.6, and Pages v5.6.2, Apple only provided the Pages EndNote Plug-in v2.0 which was intended for EndNote v9.2 or earlier. EndNote v20 requires macOS Mojave (10.14.*), Catalina (10.15.*), or Big Sur (11.*), so will not work on El Capitan. See, Add citations to your Pages document with the EndNote plug-in.

Restore Pages v5.6.2 from your Time Machine backup using the Time Machine application. Not using Time Machine? Then try the next paragraph.

You might try to launch the Mac App Store and press the option key while clicking the Purchases tab. Pages may have an Update button, which. you will click and initially, get the same dialog as before — that you need macOS Big Sur installed. It may or may not then offer another dialog offering to install the latest Pages (v5.6.2) for El Capitan. It if doesn't, then you are done.

At this point, if you still do not have Pages v5.6.2, then you will need to use Pages for iCloud to access your existing documents and it has no integration with any EndNote version.
